Britain’s John Couch Adams and France’s Urbain Le Verrier discovered Neptune. They were given full credit for discovering Neptune in 1846. They discovered this from Uranus because Uranus would speed up and slow down when orbiting. This made Adams and Le Verrier think that there was another planet giving the gravitational pull. They made calculations on Uranus’s orbit and detected where the gravitational pull was coming from. German scientists used Adams and Le Verrier’s calculations to find the planet by using a telescope. Therefore, Neptune was discovered in Britain, France, and Germany.
